One of the worst punishments in history was the Blood Eagle, a brutal execution method used by the Vikings, mostly on Christians.In this terrible practice, the torturers would cut the victim’s ribs away from the spine. Then, they would pull the bones and skin outward to look like wings.To finish the gruesome ritual, they were said to remove the victim’s lungs from their chest.
