Yes. I have been doing this because I started understanding my wife...and myself as I started researching and understanding attachment theory. Understanding both our own pasts has given me a sense of compassion and appreciation that I can relate to and put myself in the other person's shoes and be less critical, more forgiving, and more appreciative. I learned this during a moment of her distancing. Amazingly enough she had been doing the same during her time away. This new perspective has really brought us together. I feel like I found my best friend again. But I realize also that I became "friendly" or "secure" myself.
