Great tips! Especially the one on carrying own water bottles and bags!! Another tip could be to carry one's own essential cosmetics and avoid using the packaged ones given in hotels. This will save a lot of little plastic bottles. And, one can insist that the hotel not change sheets and towels every day. Some keep on doing this despite cards that state you have an option to not have it done!
