Start by air-drying the dishes to use less energy, then try switching to natural, non-toxic cleaning products—you can even make them yourself with as few as two ingredients. Finish off with accessories made from sustainable materials, like bamboo utensils, and you’re well on your way to living green. Simple, right?

Eco tips at home … let's start in the kitchen.
Make sure your dishwasher gets a full workout by running it only when it's completely full. Load it up and then let ‘em air-dry.
Cleanliness counts throughout the kitchen. Make sure yours sparkles with effective and non-toxic plant-based cleaning products. We're fans of healthy yet easy-to-find brands like Method and Mrs. Myers. In a pinch, go retro on the cheap with baking soda—it's non-toxic mixed with a little water to clean tubs, sinks and other surfaces.
And don't forget to accessorize with 100% recycled materials. Bamboo looks lovely on you. It's a more sustainable wood because you don't have to chop it down to harvest the bark. A single tree can be harvested 16 times on average during its lifetime, storing more carbon dioxide each time.
