If we can get a “Doctor Reacts” for the whole season of The Pitt, I’d be cool with that.

I have to say, it's quite fun to just see Mike actually just say "Yeah this is accurate". It's such a change of pace from all the other shows he has reviewed in the past.

One of my favorite tiny details is the sanitation worker taking a second when she hears the flatline. Like, that's the kind of woman I'd want working at a hospital because you can tell she cares and, therefore, she will invest and put effort into her work, which will help keep the hospital clean and safer

The EVS worker heard the flatline beep and said a prayer for the patient. Such a good, important detail. Ancillary staff get overlooked all the time but they grieve too.

I'm an autistic female and I've been a case manager for autistic people for 11 years. The intern Melissa King "Mel" is one of the most accurate portrayals of a low support needs, high masking female autistic I've ever seen. I relate to her even down to not recognizing somebody you've already met.

Honestly the Year 4 med student who is having probably the worst day of his life is by far the best doctor on the show, he is the most suited to the ER because even though he goes through it a lot, he is the first to jump in when there is trouble, he doesn't hesitate to ask for help and he listens to the nurses and the doctors, even when he doesn't want to. He struggles because its hard losing his patient, but he still acts on instinct when someone is danger and I feel like he's going to be a great ER doctor

That bit with the custodian stopping for a moment after the patient dies is so powerful and I love that the show doesn't draw attention to it.

Dr. Mike mentioning how UNDER REPORTED violence on healthcare staff is literally made MY DAY!! Thank you!! Please be kind to ALL healthcare staff and don't touch us!

The whole show is SO impressive, but to me, the fact that all of the monitors match the scene is the kind of work that goes SO underappreciated and there is one person out there making sure all that stuff is on point. I don't know who they are but DAMN are they good at their job.

I like how Dr. Mike keeps noticing things to critique that are immediately commented on by characters, shows how this show was really made with education/dispelling medical myths in mind

Every episode, is every hour in the ER

By then time we are done with the Season, its just a day for these guys

Really shows you the INTENSITY of Emergencies, and what it takes by all involves to save lifes.

*Massive Respect*

"A bit out of my scope" impressive for you to say that. not many providers admit to their SOP. thank you

What I really appreciate about this show is the absence of dramatic music which is usually used to manipulate viewers into feeling & reacting in specific ways. With 'The Pitt', what you feel is 100% your own, unguided, honest emotions & reactions.

I love the little touch of having the janitor say a prayer for the man who passed
Ancillary staff doesn't usually get the attention, but they deal with the loss too...

Spanish medical interpreter here! I started watching the show because I wanted to "study" the medical vocabulary and I love this show, especially that they are displaying this video interpretation. What dr. Mike is saying is so true, it's hard when the medical staff say "can you ask her what hurts?", as opposed to speaking to the patient directly ("can you tell me what hurts?").
Great to see that dr. Mike knows how to work with an interpreter 😊

Dr King (the one who mentioned she sometimes has an emotional response to death) is almost certainly on the spectrum. She does so many little things like this throughout the show so far. Things that seem just a little off to most of us, but are probably coping mechanisms for her for dealing with the constant noise in the ER, the hectic and unordered situations she finds herself in constantly, etc.

That being said, I love her. She's one of my favorite characters so far.

When my husband was in palliative care for a glioblastoma I could see how his nurses, who had been with him for 2 months, were becoming very sad and his radiologist visited him even after he had been done with treatment a while ago. They were all very emotional and some of them came to the funeral, it made us feel like we weren't alone in our pain. Most wonderful group of humans and health professionals I've ever met.

The moment with the janitor is so powerful and important. I was just a COVID screener during the worst of the pandemic and it just really hit home showing how the grief can effect any of the staff.

As a recovering alcoholic who had take Ativan to help with the seizures and withdrawl symptoms it is nice to see someone explain what and why benzo's are used.

6:10 I’m surprised Dr.Mike didn’t notice the shot of the custodian and how she reacted to the them calling T.O.D. I like how writers showed that losing a patient doesn’t just effect the medical staff it effects everyone working there.
