HOME CARRY: is Carrying a Gun at Home necessary?

I carry everywhere...literally everywhere I go. It's not paranoia, it's preparedness. If my pants are on, so is my weapon. If my pants aren't on...it's within reach and you're going to look stupid getting taken down by a naked guy.

I literally just got done using the bathroom... and I brought my gun in there. I felt a little silly.. not gonna lie. But, I thought, "Hey, I don't wanna be caught with my pants down."

I agree with Colion. I was once confronted by a man, when I was in my garage, doing work. He was peeking around the open car door when I spotted him. I immediately confronted him and saw he had an accomplice standing out front keeping watch. My garage was detached and past the back of my house. I told him to leave, in not a nice way, called the Denver police, and they showed up twenty minutes later. Great response time, right? If he had a gun, and balls, who knows what could of happened to me. I’ll never face an intruder again without a gun in my hand to protect myself. And by the way, the Denver cop seemed like he could of cared less about the incident. He never wrote down any information at all. Great protection right?

Just experienced my second home invasion last week. Big dogs released prevented each group of invaders from reaching us.
I recognize the fact that if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
I'll always carry inside my house.

Home carry isn't crazy.

My girlfriends parents live in a expensive house in the "rich" side of town. They are on a mountain side and in a relatively "safe" community.

They use to sleep with their screen door open in their bed room that led out to their balcony because that door was the only way out there.

One night my girlfriends mother woke up because she heard something outside and thought it was her cat so she calmly walked to the door to see a hooded figure at the far end. She thought it was one of her daughters who were living at home at the time and called out.

The figured turned around and started walking towards her when she realized it was some strange man. She screamed at this point for her husband. The man kept walking towards her without hesitation.

At the point of the screaming my girlfriends father woke up, grabbed his gun and ran to the door. The man was now only 10 feet away. Her father said he had a gun and would shoot, at the same time he said this he was raising the gun up taking aim and hr swore as soon as his sights were on the man he was going to shoot.

However, the man upon seeing the gun just jumped over the side and took off. They called the police who then took 29 minutes to show up. Her father gathers everyone in the house. Told them to lock themselves in the room, gave them guns and then went to stand guard while awaiting the cops.

This man was not deterred till he saw a gun. Even if they could of called the cops first it would have taken them 29 minutes to respond. What would this man have done? Luckily we will never know because my girlfriends father used a gun, without even once pulling the trigger, to fend off a intruder who clearly wasn't right in the head.

Now the anti gun nut jobs want to tell me that having a gun won't stop crime? I tell you that I can protect my life how I want and if my girlfriend's family had been rapped and killed because we banned guns, you'd be the ones supporting evil. Not me.

I always make sure that I have a gun in the same room that I am in. I find it refreshing that he does too, and that some one actually made a video about this.

Folks are always gonna be against carrying guns, especially in your home.but trust me you will never feel that way again when your home is broken into with my sleeping wife and three month old baby was upstairs, by four men.the only reason they were OK was because my neighbor reacted with his gun before they got upstairs. So now me and Wifey carry 24/7.

I agree Colion, I too home carry not because I like to and get a big kick out of it. But because I have two children and pregnant wife I am protecting. Your right this is a different world we live in. your either predator or prey, wolf or the sheep. and i'll be dammed if someone ever harms a hair on my family.

I concur with you 100%. I never have a handgun less than an arm's reach away when at home, including if I'm "sitting on the throne" or taking a shower. When I'm active around the house doing chores, it is on my person and ready for implementation. I also practice with this pistol constantly, so I'm using muscle reflex when I draw and aim it. The piece I carry most is just a .380 ACP "mouse gun", but it will still hurt if I put a round up someone's nose, or in their "junk box".As an old Marine, it is second nature for me to be "armed" and prepared. I believe if you carry, you should carry all the time every time, if you're uncomfortable carrying a gun in your own house, how could you possibly fool yourself into being comfortable carrying anywhere?

I do the same thing, If my gun isn't on my hip it's kept within arms reach at all times and we have a  shotgun in the bedroom. We live in a rough area and the dopers and thugs are slowly taking things over again and as slow as the police respond you need to be able to deal with whatever comes your way on your own
