At the Global Genes Patient Summit, we talked with Brad Levy, father of child with seizures about how dogs are currently being trained to help control children with epilepsy.

Service dogs for epilepsy will be attending the Epilepsy Awareness Day in Disneyland event being held November 6-8, 2017. Levy is the founder of that event.

As Levy explains in this interview, training dogs to associate a smell with a seizure is a slow process but once trained, the dog will recognize when a seizure is about to happen and place his paws on the child to keep the child safe while also barking loudly to warn others of the situation.
