Evan Moss is a 9-year-old boy with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and epilepsy. Evan is a precocious young boy who loves to make people laugh and enjoys writing. When the decision was made to get a service dog to help Evan, his sister Aria suggested using Evan's book, My Seizure Dog, as a fundraiser. His family self-published the book and Evan began his unique approach to raise the funds to have a service dog trained specially for him. He raised almost $50,000 for 4 Paws for Ability and helped several additional children complete their fundraising goals.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

It's so important for individuals to have their service dogs but it's so frustrating to see them with dogs that can't even hold a down command. More and more companies are making thousands off of selling sub par service dogs.

That dog is really quite poorly trained. She struggles to follow commands and can’t even hold a down, which is by far one of the most important skills for a service dog. It’s incredible how much dogs can help our disabilities, but they need to be properly trained so they don’t put the general public (including other service dogs) in danger.
