A great friend of mine recently passed away from this condition. I wish he would have used a dog to help him through it but he did make it to 35 and touched my life immensely. I am so glad to see you are doing so much for your girl so early. Big hug to you all and many blessings.

I don't like how the dog is pulling and gets very distracted on little things plus the "ask to pet I'm friendly" is a big no

When we train a dog for seizure alert, we train the dog to respond to the synthetic chemical (provided by the Doctor), that the person will give off when they have an actual seizure. This "trainer" said he "hopes" the dog will alert when the child has a seizure. Also, the dog should be wearing a "Don't Pet Me, I'm Working" patch, not an "Ask To Pet Me, I'm Friendly" patch.

there are a few things I'm seeing wrong with this video. For one, the dog is pulling. I know they said it's in training, but there is a lot of work on focus and heel that the dog needs before it can go out in public dragging the child like that. Second, the patch needs to change. It's relaying the wrong message to strangers. I think they should have fully trained the dog to alert and do its tasks before providing it to a child, especially one that young.

Ok, everyone.
1) that is a head collar/gentle leader. Have used them on my pet dogs and sdits. They can open there mouth. It just helps have better control
2) 95% of sd handlers say no petting. It is someone's personal opinion to have ppl pet their sd. If they feel comfortable, you shouldn't have a problem
3) this dog is IN TRAINING. do you think these amazing sds on yt like Dixie, Colt, Percie, Peanut, and Buddy started out like that? No! This dog will go through years of training to become an sd. So chill everyone

actually, a dog CAN sense when a person is about to have a seizure.

There shouldn’t be an ask to pet patch/sign. only allow people to ASK to pet when the dog is in early stages of training so the dog can (sadly) get used to random people petting it while working, please explain to the person though that this is only for training purposes, you should also probably do this with people you know but someone the dog won’t know. That dog is also distracted and pulling which is extremely dangerous for the child especially since they are attached to each other. If she has a new service dog I hope they went with a different program.

I was born with tubular sclerosis and have two tumors on my heart, but I've never had any seizures before. I only know half of what this little girl is going through.

Why do people think the dog is wearing a muzzle. It's a gentle leader/head collar, used to control the dog's pulling. If it _was_ a muzzle it'd be the world's most useless muzzle. Like it wouldn't work at all.

Used!? How about we change it to helps detect the seizures
Used just makes it sounds like they don’t care for it they just want their little girl to be safe

Service dogs are incredible. As a service dog handler. This video ticks me off. The dog being pulled on the gentle leader and the fact that the vest encourages petting is very shady.

ppl seriously dnt no the difference between a muzzle and the neck collar for the dog. u shouldn't own a dog if u didn't no that.

We "HOPE" she will detect siezures. Not sure if she will but we will see if she can. WTF! WHAT A SCAM! They use scent detection boxes started off with 1 scent and going up the row of boxes then mixing that 1 scent around then adding a 2nd and so forth. This dog should be able to if they did it correctly. There shouldn't be hesitation. GD!

You cannot train a dog to detect a seizure. Either it can or it cannot. A seizure alert dog is born with the ability to detect a seizure.
