When finishing up this video I realized I made an error. For some reason I took "what do the good know except what the bad teach them by their excesses" as Candyman stating that he's teaching them about their sins by exploiting their excesses, which could still be true. But it's more likely that he meant that the bad teach the good by their own excesses in violence and other evil acts, which would mean he believes the harm he and others like him cause to others is the only way that the good ever learn anything. Sorry about that everyone!

There's another notable tragedy to Candyman's existence: despite the immortality that being a literal living legend provides, he has to act in accordance with the mythos. Candyman has no true freedom of will. He is doomed to be a murderer forever, lest he becomes nothing at all.

I got to meet Tony Todd and get an autograph from him and he was an incredibly sincere and kind man. He asked me many things about myself and my own life. It is a testament to his talent that so genuine a man could be so terrifying a villain

Clive Barker sure knows how to make the most terrifying and well-written characters in his novels. Both Candyman and Pinhead

One of the Top 10 greatest slasher villains ever put to screen, and ONLY Tony Todd is who I see when I think of this character. He brought something so unique to the role with his endearing yet truly terrifying voice, and his overall presence from the moment he steps on screen.

You should cover "AM" from
"I have no mouth and I must Scream"
Truly one of the most evil antagonists in history

Just watched the original version yesterday and it's a brilliant film. The dynamic between Candyman and Helen is so haunting. The way Candyman takes everything away from Helen and plays with her mind is almost scarier than the murders

A funny piece of trivia is that the first Candyman shot at the actual Cabrini Green projects, and apparently the gang that controlled the building would only let them shoot there if they got parts in the movie.

Also, the day that they wrapped, one of their cars or trucks was shot at.

One of my personal favorite horror villains that’s criminally overlooked
Thank you Tony Todd for giving us this incredible character

"I am, the writing on the walls, the sweet smell of blood on the street, the buzz that echoes in the alley ways. They will say that I have shed innocent blood you are far from innocent, but they'll say you were that's all that matters".

I do remember reading about that scene in the movie of the mirror that goes into the other apartment. It's based on a true horrifying event. That a person actually accessed the other person's apartment through the mirror and murdered them.

I always found it curious how both Candyman and Freddy Kreuger are both supernatural phantasms, who both rely on the memories and fears of people to maintain their existence. Well at least on Freddy's part it was established in Freddy vs Jason.

Maybe a Candyman and Terror on Elm Street crossover would've been a more interesting crossover?

The break down... A wraith created by Malice... The best at explaining why it kills the innocent as well as the guilty....

Thank You..

Candyman is perhaps one of my favorite horror movie villains in general, thanks to Tony Todd’s amazing performance, the sheer charisma and voice, and the mystery behind his legend. 😍

I remember seeing this for the first time in the movie theater and thinking how beautiful the musical score was as well as that scene when he goes backwards out the window. I don't know why but that scene made me laugh out loud.

"I had a great lawyer at the time and we got paid, " Todd pointed out. The actor had a clause that earned him an estimated $1, 000 per bee sting. "So I didn't mind it, I'm going like, 'Bring it on!' And it only totaled to 27 [stings]."

Tony Todd you absolute legend!

A video about “Lil Ze” from City of God would be awesome. He’s definitely a perfect candidate for an analyzing evil video

Candyman was a great choice for an analyzing Evil video, especially so close to Halloween. I feel he's one of those overlooked slasher villains that gets overshadowed by other Slasher killers like Freddy, Jason, Michael, the Ghostface killers and Leatherface.
