How to Turn on 4WD on a Toyota 4Runner (Hi and Lo)

Here is a quick example of how to turn on the 4WD on a 4th generation Toyota 4Runner.

*It is good to turn on the 4WD in Hi once a month to keep the parts in functional order.

My truck beeps when I try to put it to 4L. (Trac and vsc lights are on. I cant turn them off) will that have something to do with it?

At a standstill, my vsc off and another vsc light blink and stay on when I try to put it back from h4 to h2. In neutral in my driveway. What am I doing wrong? I can’t get it out of 4wheel drive. I can clear the lights by turning the truck off then back on.
Should I switch it back to 2 wheel when driving?

I just purchased an 07, and when I put mine into 4Hi the lights stay blinking and it doesn't seem to engage. As for 4Lo, the alarm sounds and I can't turn it off. Any advice? Also my diff lock doesn't seem to work.
