Appreciate the no-nonsense attitude, a lot of people in the beauty industry lose their credibility for me when they claim you "need" an increasingly long list of products and treatments.

I've been using cuticle oil for a while and I see a noticeable difference with how my nails grow when using it on a regular basis and when I don't. They are much drier and brittle when I stop.

Honestly using cuticle oil regularly, initially two times a day and now a year after once a week - it was instrumental in growing out my natural nails. I think it totally depends on what the nails need. Like nutritional deficiencies, when the balance is naturally good supplements are not required regularly.

@nailcareereducation Your voice is super soothing!! I certainly enjoy your content, you are an excellent educator and you have taught me a great deal that’s for sure! However that soothing voice of yours just makes it all the more relaxing and conducive to self-care. Thanxx doll!!!!

I think it depends on your nails. When I first got into doing my nails last year, I was trying to figure out how to get my nails to grow. I tried tips one at a time and pretty quickly realized that since my nails are very thin, they can't handle water well. My nails often broke right after water exposure. They'd bend severely when still wet, and after they'd become peely. I use gloves for doing the dishes, but oil turned out to be the solution for everything else. I had already been putting oil on the ends of my hair 15 min before showering. Now, I put oil on my nails too (water has a hard time penetrating when it's already saturated with oil). I keep oil by my bathroom sinks, so I can use it when I wash my hands, and I have some next to my bed to put on at night. This week was the first time in my 50 years, I had to trim my nails back because they were too long for my liking, and my nail beds have slowly been lengthening toward my free edge. I saved money by buying a 16oz bottle of Jojoba and adding a bit of lemon essential oil. ❤

I do NEED it. I have heallth issues and my hand, nails and cuticle get so dry they crack. I have started using it daily and I am much more confortable and no longer have cracking cuticles that catch on my pockets and clothes. Some people really do need it.

Oh my gosh, thank you! I've been asking this question for YEARS. As someone with natural hair, I've learned that oil doesn't *add* moisture (water), we use it to seal in moisture (water). So when brands say to moisturize with their (insert berry, insert herb) cuticle oil, I would get confused on whether the finger & nails just work differently... or what? So it's more of a finger conditioner.

I leave bottles next to the sinks in my house as a reminder to use my cuticle oil. As a nurse, these hands take a beating with all the antiseptics. It definitely helps

I love that you mentioned the paper! I work for a moving company, and this involves packing. The cardboard, brown padded paper, and white fill paper are M*RDER for my hands. Just dries them right out. I feel seen!!

I use it morning and night and my cuticle area has never looked better.

I use after hand every hand washing. If I’m cooking, baking, or anything foodie, of course I don’t apply it😊

I used to do it only a few times a month. Now my cuticles are really dry and I'm hoping it will help soften them up with daily use.

It helps them to not be dry and can also help nail growth but I’ve used a lot and never seen my nails grow longer even by using it everyday it helps your cuticles to not be dry

All you need is a tin of thick, old-fashioned, oily, super-moisturising Nivea creme. Oil does create a moisture barrier but Nivea actually adds moisture as well, so is far more effective for any kind of dry skin including cuticles. It doesn't look as cute as oil after a fresh manicure, but it's way better to slather all over your hands before bed. Keeps your hands soft too. It's also amazing for elbows, knees, anywhere you have cracked skin. Basically it's a miracle cream, imho.

I'm a serve nail biter for the last like 15 years. My nails are incredibly gross (look ugly), short, my mantles get "hang nails" (if that's what you call it), my cuticles are all over the place, and my nail plates are just destroyed. It;s easy to say just stop, but it's my copping mechanism and helps keep my mind/mouth busy.

Please what can I do to help me stop biting for every and recover my nails so I can be confident like I once was.

I admit I'm m one who preach cuticel oil to my friends and colleagues and almost strangers 😅 However, in my job I handel wet cloth and then burning hot cloth on/off for 8 hours. So i need some protection for my skin, and normal lotion just don't work in my job.
We used to use lotion for years till I statet doing nails, and went from dry bleeding fingers to pretty normal looking. Needs oli 4 times a day due to the work conditions.

My friend, who are in childcare, only need it once a day or less, even tho she does wash her hands a lot.
