As a chronic nail biter myself, this is 100% correct! I currently have my nails done for this very reason. The last time I got them done, they were even shorter than this. But my nail tech didn't say a word, she just did them as normal and they're fantastic! 💖

Very true, I bit my nails for YEARS maybe 10? And getting acrylic nails helped me because I could not chew them anymore plus they made me feel pretty :)

as a cosmetology student i actually 100% understand why former nail techs turned her down. it is against policy and sometimes it is even a law where we cannot preform service on anyone with cuts or abrasions on the skin on or around the area we will be doing the service:)

I feel touched by what you did for Anna. I know it's a business liability to work on fingers with broken skin, but you took your chances. You're not only giving her a greater chance of healing physically, but also emotionally and mentally, because nail-biting is a chronic symptom of anxiety. For that, you're an angel!

Such a great job!!! I think this length of nail is HIGHLY underrated. It's so pretty. You don't need extremely long nails for them to be beautiful ❤️

It's true!! I had a terrible nail biting habit until I got my nails done and covered the nails with acrylics. I barely bit at all for years after the nails recovered. I've recently relapsed into biting again so I need to cover them up again 😅

I used to bite my nails when I was younger, my mom started bringing me in just to have my nails painted and it made such a HUGE difference. Now as an adult, I don’t have the habit anymore

im so glad you brought some attention to this because i rarely see anyone mention anything about chronic nail biting. my fingers look pretty similar to your client's before she got her nails done, and i always get judgemental comments about my fingers that just strengthens my insecurities about them. its really great that you understood your client and didnt reject her like the other nail salons did. i havent tried getting acrylic nails yet, but after seeing the comments ill probably try it out sometime. this yt short really made my day, thank you <3

I am a chronic cuticle biter! When I don’t have nails on I tend to rip my cuticles to crap!! Thank you for this Anastasia!

My biting and picking is OCD based and if there is rough skin or hang nails, I CANNOT leave it alone. Wonderful that you understand and took care of your client ❤️

you're exactly right! getting manicures was the most important step to helping me overcome my nail biting habit.

as a nail-biter since early childhood, I LOVE that you said this! This is exactly what I wanted to hear!! So glad I heard this, thank you!

very very true. i pick at my skin often but i forced myself to paint and grow my nails out and now my brains like “aw i don’t want to mess up my fingers, they’re too pretty” so i’ve pretty much stopped destroying my hands ever since.

Agreed!!! When my nails aren’t done I absolutely pick and bite at them. When they’re done, I ignore them and it’s like I’ve never had the habit in the first place 😂

You're compassionate and skilled.
I bet she is so pleased to have pretty nails. Thank you for caring.

That is so kind of you and Lovely work!! Good luck, Ana. When I was young, I bit my nails too and my mom (who was a nail artist lol) gave me this “horse hoof” cuticle cream. Tasted downright awful and kept my cuticles and nails moisturized. It definitely helped me so much. Now, I absolutely always keep a cuticle trimmer and argan oil in a roller ball with me at all times or I will rip my hangnail/cuticle skin until it bleeds.

I absolutely LOVE <3 how you pinch the side of the nails to make them look normal and not like spoons

Well that’s good that salons that didn’t feel prepared to handle her bad habit rejected her and not lied and pretend to have the expertise. The good thing is she found you 😍

I agree. I was a nail-biter as a kid. I finally stopped when I turned 16 and got a job, and started getting my nail done regularly.

Completely agree, I used to be a chronic nail biter and only stopped after I had regular manis. Best wishes to this person trying to break the habit ❤
