What most don’t realize is the electricity used to charge the battery is from coal and other fossil fuels. It makes no sense to me.

Let's hope so. EVs are absolutely impractical. I will never buy one.

Consumers should have the right to choose what type of vehicle they want. For those of us that live in colder climates, all electric doesn't make sense. For those of us who mostly drive on the highway, hybrids don't make too much sense. Nothing wrong with gas.

toyota was villified for not joining the all-out EV bandwagon. Now toyota says 'I told you so...'

Yes, please! Get our Government out of here! Let the market decide.

Why are mandates a thing in the USA. Are mandates even constitutional? It's politicians working with big corporations that gets us mandates. Who were the winners during the Covid hype? Actually, mandates should be outlawed. And how does the federal government tell a free society that fracking is not allowed. If you're a politician or a friend of a politician, you win...if you're just a regular citizen you lose (your freedoms).

How many of these car company bigwigs have been fired for their terrible decision to ”go all electric”? Billions of dollars have been lost. It’s astounding how many companies jumped on the EV wagon.

I Just bought my first EV, a 2014 Tesla model S with 61, 000 miles on it. I paid $12, 900 for it, tax and license included. The tires have about 60% left on them and they have been replaced once. It works great is in excellent condition and fulfills exactly the purpose that I bought it for. I plan to drive it about 8K miles a year. The battery still has 93% of its original range.

Want to save the environment? Buy a used car. There. Over. Done.

I have a good source in Detroit who tells me that Ford is leasing almost every available empty lot in the area and parking thousands of unsold EV’s. The auto industry made a huge mistake going all in on EV’s. They should have entered the market slowly. Most people don’t want or they cannot afford an EV. If an EV would work for you, by all means, get one. But don’t try to force it on us.

I love waking up every morning with a full charge in my garage with a cheap level 2 charger, and not having to travel to gas stations - and this is a plugin hybrid. What the elites need to understand is that charging doesn't work for apartment dwellers unless they have workplace charging to trickle charge all day while they work

You wouldn't want to charge the car overnight where my power company charges $1.00 per kwh from 9pm to 7am. they seem to call that time demand charge.
