Nice overview. I'm into technical drawings, and would like to specify a subset color palette so that I'm consistent with using the same colors for different objects (e.g., one color for water, one for air, one for aluminum, etc.).
1. Is there a way to make such a specialized color palette?
Also, I'd like to make a "library" of fill patterns, e.g., one for wood, one for chipboard, etc. And preferably with the possibility to name the various patterns and store them so they are always available.
2. Is there a way to do make (named) own fill patterns?
In the past, I've had problems with fill gradients. If I copy an object with fill gradient and move it, it seems like the specification of the gradient (e.g., where it starts and stops) does not move with the object.
3. Is there a way to copy gradient specification with object?
I often need to insert arrows ("vectors"). It is a little frustrating that line endings always (?) are independent. It would be nice to be able to choose that the arrows on each end are of the same style and size -- not always easy.
4. Is there a trick to easily find balanced arrowheads?
Finally -- I have bad experience with using the pen (Bezier) tool to draw lines with arrows -- often with slanted lines, the arrow-head "breaks it's neck", i.e., get a different direction than the line. Someone suggested to use the connection tool instead. This tool allows for proper direction of the arrowhead. However, I need two objects to connect to properly get a direction with this tool. And sometimes I just want an arrow to be parallel with a line -- I don't want two artificial object.
5. Is there a trick to draw (slanted) arrows where the arrow-head aligns with the arrow-line?

I just finished this 4th video, very helpful, especially with the speed reduced to 75% 😉 as you recommended in my comment on Lesson 1.
In the last step of the Android icon, when I did [union] after aligning the antenna with the rest of the model, the antenna disappeared. I tried doing a couple of undo steps and repeating, but they still didn't stay. I went back to the video and think maybe I missed doing [stroke to path] straight after drawing the vertical line. Is it critical to do stroke to path before doing the rotate, move and duplicate steps?
Well done with these tutorials, now I will have to keep practicing so I don't forget it all.

Can't create the spiral. The path just don't duplicate
edit: I skipped one step due to a weird buffering error, I made the duplication
