B-Ionic 2 part does not disrupt the sodium chloride balance because it adds all other major, minor, and important trace elements in their correct artificial seawater ratios to the sodium and chloride that accumulates. Since the residual ions left behind match an artificial seawater mix, ionic balance is maintained as long as salinity is maintained in the tank. The net effect is B-Ionic provides calcium, alkalinity, an increase in pH (due to high carbonate content), and a small water change if water has to be removed and replaced with RO/DI to maintain tank salinity. B-Ionic 2 part was developed in the early 90’s to address the problems you mention are inherent with other 2 parts.

The issue is that the alkalinity in All for Reef takes a while to appear on a test kit.

Use a 2 part like z-elements, you dose kh calcium mag and all trace elements

How would you dose All For Reef? Let’s say magnesium is high and alkalinity is low, wouldn’t dosing that increase everything at once including magnesium making it too high? Is this something that gets dosed daily or weekly? Do I have to test between each dose?

I use TM balling ( but dont add any trace ) only Strontium + kalkwasser.. should i give more trace ? Like AK ? IPC never shows i have less on anything

Yeah I just have corals, they’ve been doing GREAT, I don’t do any of this, if they are fine do I need to dose them with anything?
