After years of not believing in a god and being so called agnostic I have just realized there has to be a god.
My mind cleared at the sixth minute mark when Jordan was talking about doing the right thing.
and I realized that we only know what is right because god tells us what is right.

"Blessed are those who believe and yet do not see." John's Gospel is all about believing without needing to see and indeed hearing is the essence of faith.

I wasn’t raised religious but have always found myself coming back to God and wanting to believe. I do believe there is a God but I didn’t have the guidance/gift of a faith passed down to me from my parents.

I like to think of it as a necessary condition for us to actually learn while on earth. If God presented himself to us we would merely be obeying out of fear, hence the comparison to authoritarianism at the beginning.

I also think of our existence as something too complex to understand. Even with biblical teachings. I like to use the following analogy - when a small child is told to eat their vegetables or go to bed with an empty stomach (or shown some other act of ‘tough love’) they do not understand why. But their is wisdom in it beyond their comprehension. That’s my take anyway. It’s arrogant to think you can fully understand our existence and why things are the way they are - God’s plan. There will always be elements of confusion as we are mere human beings.

I am thankful that I can see God in the lives of true believers in Him. We're promised that when we are not infected with sin, we will be worthy to see Him. My daily prayer is to help me become more like Him so others see Jesus when they look at me.

I was raised Christian and you have brought light to me when I needed it so nuch. I pray your work becomes for fruitful in light of the condition of the world and those who don't agree with those who love God.
