How to See God in Everything, Every Day (and How to Respond)

“It is good to guard the secret of a king, but gloriously to reveal the works of God, and with fitting honor to acknowledge him.” - Tobit 12:7

How often do you acknowledge the works of God? How often do you recognize what he’s doing in your life? In this passage from Tobit, the Archangel Raphael is encouraging us to pay attention to the works of God—not only in our lives, but in the lives of those around us. He is constantly present, even in our most mundane tasks. But how often do we notice his works, note his presence and goodness, and declare it to the world?

Today, Fr. Mike encourages us to acknowledge the presence of God in our lives through 3 steps: noticing, noting, and declaring.

I saw God at the corner of Ocean Blvd!! It's a smile from a stranger, an ocean tide, a starry night, an unexpected phone call, a well needed hug. He's everywhere all the time. So fun to start your day looking for God and end your day sharing with others where you saw him.

When I asked St. Francis to find me an acceptable pet and, as St. Francis often did, I opened the bible to a passage --- it opened to the Book of Tobit where St. Raphael tells Tobias to pull the cataracts off Tobit's eyes, I was intrigued and thought to myself this is where they got the idea for cataract surgery. The next day I found a tiny scared kitten in my yard and the kitten had a cataract on her eye -- I knew this was the answer to my prayer and I called the kitten Tobit.

True story y'all!
I was just sitting and reflecting on the journal prompt i have for today, thinking that i couldn't think of a single thing to write about in answer of the prompt i chose for today. Not even 30 seconds after thinking this i looked at my phone and saw the notification for this video. I had to laugh at the title of the video because no joke my prompt for today (word for word) is "where did you see God in your life today?". Well i have something now lol! God has a sense of humor 💙

I was waiting for my table yesterday, outside in 105F(40C) weather. After 30 minutes I said, God please help, I can't stand it anymore. Within 30 seconds, the door opened and we got our table. When we arrived someone immediately "by mistake" brought us an appetizer. Then they apologized and said that we can have it for free. During the dinner, again they "mixed up" my order and brought me a different dish. Again, they apologized and basically told me I can keep it for free. I started laughing and said to my husband, see, God loves us so much :D :D :D Praise be Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour :)

Hey guys, just a heads-up to make sure when praising the works of God, don't fall into the sin of pride and the “holier than thou” vibe because that repels people instead of bringing them in. It turns the focus on the person (I love God so much and you don't haha feeling), and Satan can use our good intentions and works and twist them to make them sinful. Just a reminder!

I love to note that God answers me as I talk with him, he immediately responds, not always my way, but more in perspective of what my needs are. I love this kind of communication, as it prepares me, to be alert of mistakes I could make in my daily path. Gods guidance is profound.
