THE ANSWER IS?
I have no clue! When I am in the zone during a painting session, I completely lose track of time. I truly begin to feel like I am living inside of the scene I am creating as it unfolds. When I am in the zone, my eyes are no longer focused, I am in my minds eye, and feeling my way through the brushstrokes and gestures. If I had to guess, probably 40+ hours, plus all of the thousands of hours spent studying art, nature, color,developing my painting skills, and in person observations of the sea in all the parts of the world I have traveled to. Does travel time count?
