Minnehaha falls is dependent upon lake Minnetonka water levels for flow.

When you visited the area was under a bit of a drought. Not much if any water emptying out of the lake and down Minnehaha creek.

For impressive flow. April is typically best time to see an impressive flow.

Best visit when area is experiencing floods levels.

The Basilica and Cathedral were both commissioned by the first Archbishop in the area. That Archbishop is also largely responsible for the large Irish population in St. Paul, because he helped facilitate mass Irish immigration to the area.
