Who wants to be a slave to a job! I don't think covid made people lazy, I think it made people realize what's most important in life!

Pro tip: Stop caring. Best decision of my life. Ive stopped giving a crap what anybody else, especially at work, thinks about me or anything else. Threaten to fire me, dont care, STFU and do it, dont tell me about it, do it or F off. Im here to do a job, not babysit all the adult children around me.

I quit my job in July 2020 and never looked back. It has been rough financially at times, but, I have peace of mind. The work environment became too toxic. A lot of gossiping and backstabbing.

Having a job I hate that I have to go to every damn day, makes my life absolutely not worth living whatsoever.

I worked in the same warehouse for over 24 yrs. Wasted years ill never get back. Nothing but highschool drama, and piss poor pay. Finally at 49 yrs old- i got my class A license. Now, my office is the inside of a truck. Just me and my music. No dirtbag coworkers, or shit managers to deal with. Wish id done it 20+ yrs ago. HIGHLY recommend

I stopped having casual or harmless conversations w/ people at work. It completely eliminates drama. DONT play where you get your pay. In this age you have to protect yourself. It's not personal it's professional.

I feel this! We quit the rat race, sold 95% of our belongings, bought a used RV and fixed it up, and we've been living on the road with less and happier than ever. We work for 6-7 months and then take a break the rest of the time. We travel and meet people and live life. The American Dream only works if you're asleep.

I’m totally agree with what you’re saying . I tolerated my job for 35 years and couldn’t wait to leave . I tried going back after 2yrs of retirement and got a quick lesson/reminder why I was happy to leave . It all is related to the ignorance, dis respect & back stabbing, make’s good people to not wanna be there .

And the ridiculous thing about it is that they expect maximum loyalty for minimum wage.

Yes, yes, yes to all of it! I've worked in banking all of my adult life until 2020. My last six year position, I had to train new hires that came in making more than I did. The being treated like a child, the constant meetings and role playing. The public was a horror show. I had customers cuss me out and call me names regularly, throw things at me, steal things off my desk and try to physically attack me. They came in drunk and on drugs and were sexually explicit . There was a homeless person camped out in our restroom one day and my boss told me to go in there and get them out. Me, a five foot tall older lady! I'm self mercifully self employed now. Never, ever again. Ever.

I've pretty much always been self employed. My ex-wife told me that I would never survive in the corporate world. She said because I have no filter, and would tell my boss to go f*** himself, I would get myself fired. I just don't tolerate bs.

I am a registered nurse and all of this applies to me also . We get treated very poorly and they wonder why no one one wants to be a nurse

Employers pay you crap, treat you like crap, and steal all your time. It’s not a place for a person who truly has self respect. It doesn’t matter if you have a degree or not. Lower your expenses, start a business, live on your own terms and enjoy your time on this earth. If you must work for someone, choose part-time and use your time off to build your own business.

RN here for 39 years. I absolutely agree with everything you say. I loved my job for many years, but at this point, I feel the same way you do.

Why are all these people bad mouthing her? She worked for many years.... but with a plan in place to save enough so she could be independent and not have to work a dead end job until she keeled over from old age. That's called savvy!

I worked 41 years for the same corporation and left at 61 years old, 10 months from being 62 years old because I had enough. I was penalized on my pension because I was not 62 years old . Because I did save those 41 years I was able to walk. Save while you’re working walk out when you’re ready .

Agree agree agree. No matter how hard you work, the effort you put into a job, going way above and beyond, it is not acknowledged, appreciated or rewarded. The companies don’t care. ZERO incentive.

I'm a commercial locksmith in Dallas. I've worked for myself for 15 years. No employees no shop. I made 149, 000 in 2022. I work an average of 45 hours a week. I learned long ago self-employment is quality of life. Don't get a worthless degree, go to a trade school.

I retired early at 60. I just could not stand it anymore. My pension is tiny but I don't care. I have everything that I need.

I’d rather stand in food bank lineups then ever work in these work places full of psychopaths. I’ve had lots of jobs that turned into nothing but disappointment usually due to being over qualified and surrounded by jealous weirdos…. Never again!
