For those having a difficult time executing this glitch:

1. drop your firearm or melee weapon
2. step away from the item
3. get as close enough to the item until the prompt to pick it up appears
4. then hit your take button and pause button at the same time
5. quicksave via the pause menu and reload
6. rinse and repeat



Do note that melee weapons, when you do this glitch, will not play the complete sound effect, only a very small portion of the first part of the sound effect


I'm on PC, so I also made a macro key to make my life even easier instead of always pressing 2 buttons, as follows:
Press Down (Interaction Key)
Delay 150ms (yes, i find it even more effective if you add a delay of 150 miliseconds between keystrokes)
Press Down (Pause Key)
Release (Interaction Key)
Release (Pause Key)

Works each and every time for me on PC, so im hoping it works for you too; hopefully in consoles too

It works but you're better off doing a NCPD scanner mission and collecting the weapons off your enemies
This is rather tedious for me at least because of the loading time and the difficulty of doing it compared to other methods

this also works on objects or weapons dropped from your inventory as well as from items found on bodies, that way you can decide the worth in eddies or components of what you are farming.

I just tried. I'm on Series X. I hear the sound, and even the save file shows the gun in the ground, but when i load in, no gun on the ground and only 1 gun in my inventory. I think this has been patched out.

It’s works on ps5 I just got it after 15 min of failing. But you can only dupe it once, dropping it drops both copies but gives you both back on picking it up, and selling it works so you can dupe, sell, then dupe again. But only in that order lol. Good luck yall

Doesn't work. You can't have same item apparently. I have it in inventory and on the floor, but once I pick up it doesn't show as duplicate

When i reload i see 1 in inventory and 1 on ground. When i oick the one on ground up... it disappeared

Didn't work for me.
Dropped standard revolver.
walked into a different room, waited 10 seconds.
Came back, hit F and Esc at the same time.
I heard the pickup noise.
Pressed F5 for quick save.
Then loaded most recent save.
On the ground is the revolver, plus revolver is in my backpack.
but, after picking up the revolver there is still only one revolver in my backpack.
Tried several times with the same result.

This works on Playstation 4. When the glitch performs correctly, the copied weapons will NOT show in your inventory. It will only show one. Dont worry. Just go to a vendor, and the rest of the copies will be there.

WARNING. After you sell your copied weapons, and leave the vendor, that weapon will not be the same price afterwards. I copied a Weapon that cost 500 Eddies. Duplicated it 4 times, and got 2000 Eddies. Then i tried the dupe again. It worked. But now that weapon sells at onlt 150 Eddies. Make sure to always save before performing any exploit on any game.


Overall... A great way to make some preem cash 👍

This is too slow and tedious. If you are going to the effort of saving and loading over and over why not just cheat in extra money from command line?

This still works for anyone wondering. I'm on PC and use a controller. Timing is key.

Uma dica galera, percebi que é muito mais fácil acertar o timing se vocês apertarem primeiro o botão opções e depois o botão de pegar a arma: X(xbox)/Quadrado(PS). É uma pequena diferença de tempo, muito pequena, vão perceber que se apertarem o opções e bem rápido ja pegarem a arma, vão acertar muito mais rápido.
Obs: Acabei de descobrir isso, estou jogando agora kkkk

I decided to pick this game up with the DLC today.

When I go in buildings I can’t see anything it’s almost unbearable.

Any suggestions or is there something I’m missing? It’s almost pitch black 😂

IT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE ON XBOX…

If you do it correctly the saved file will begin with the picking sound…so the game saves the fact that you are picking the weapon…

Not working for me the duplication turns it to one gun so if I sell or drop I lose both guns for regular price
