Great video! My OCD doesn't allow for that kick bass panning, though

I don't know If I still a beginner in the mixing field but man... I've never heard about most of these stuff anywhere else and apparently it works if you use it properly. Thank, one of the best audio channels in YT.

Great video. Another variation on using parallel compression on a mix is to: 1) create a buss with a compressor set to a pretty severe setting; 2) create post fader sends to the compressor buss for all of your busses/subgroups WITH THE EXCEPTION of drums and bass; 3) mix the compression buss in to taste. Note: You can also EQ/clip/saturate the compression buss to alter the signal's character.

Also, make sure to use the trim knob on fresh air. Makes the harshness a lot smoother while still keeping brightness 💪🏽💯

In 8 minutes you have highlighted some of the key things that should be done. I think I just need to rewatch this every couple weeks...especially after a bright and shiny plugin comes out so I can be reminded...you don't need it you have all you need and the techniques to get you where you want to

Its hard to hear the differences when you do breaks between the comparings, for the next videos I would suggest to let it play a bit and then turn bypass on and off to make it more clear for the viewers that dont have developed this kind of hearing yet.
Also you tweak it a bit like the exciter that you turn it on and off again so hear what changed, because you did so suttle changes that its hard to hear, another comparison would be great afterwards.

Some really great tips! I’ll try the high shelf parallel technique. I’ll usually run a parallel compression bus for the drums as well but add some heavy distortion, just some nice icing on the cake to get them to sound a little more lively
