Has Past Trauma Made You Not Trust Your Body? Tap Along For 60 Seconds..

Karen Ortner shared this powerful Tapping video that resonated with a lot of people, so we’re sharing it with you here as well. ❤️ Here are her words on this post:
"After years of childhood sexual abuse and trauma, I believed that my body had betrayed me. That it was the enemy and to blame for what happened to me. I beat myself up often, wondering: “Why didn’t I fight or flee? Why did my body freeze?”
How can I trust my body to keep me safe when I have no conscious control over its responses?
But, the truth is that my body is not the enemy and neither is yours.
Our bodies and nervous systems are wired for safety and will do whatever it takes to give us the best chance of survival in any given situation.
What happened to you back then was never, ever your body’s fault. There was nothing you could or should have done differently to prevent it.
Yes, acknowledging this can bring up grief and sadness about what we had to endure.
But ultimately, when we’re able to sit with and process our emotions with tools like Tapping, we can begin to move towards self-compassion and healing, and the understanding that our body did the very best that it could to protect us back then.
Yes it’s a process - it certainly has been for me! But little by little, we can begin to be-friend our body - reclaiming it as our deepest ally in healing.
And so I want to gently invite you today to pause and to breathe into just a tiny bit of self-compassion.
I see you and I honor each healing step you take.
Sending you love and courage today. ❤️" - Karen Ortner

Even though it feels like my body is the enemy
And I can't trust it
Because it reminds me of what happened back then
But I am choosing to stop and be present in this moment
Knowing that what happened was never my body's fault
My body did the best that it could
So I am breathing in to a little bit of safety today
And I am open to befriending my body a little bit right now
