Have you ever wondered: "what are clonic tics?" Well, this video is about the 3 subcategories of motor tics - dystonic, clonic, and tonic tics - but this one is dedicated specifically to what is a clonic tic? Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders cause people to make involuntary movements and sounds known as tics, but what is a clonic tic? Watch to find out!!

As a girl with Tourette's, I would love to spread awareness and education about my disorder, as I feel it is quite misunderstood in today's society. The media has made it out to be a swearing disorder only, which is far from true. I hope this video will educate you on Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders! Life with Tourettes can be difficult, but just know that we're the same as everyone else...except for the fact we tic like clocks! (:

Thanks for watching!

Hi i'm also a Tourette awareness YouTuber. I like this video because it's short and you give the information quick. Can I add this video to my Tourette awareness playlist?

Hmmm. Because this is a neurological disorder with dystonic, tonic, and clonic tics that are involuntary, I do wonder if the mechanisms in the brain causing could possibly be in the same family of neuron triggers that cause seizures and migraines. I have myoclonus due to fibromyalgia (all autoimmune), so I know at least an iota of your daily frustration with involuntary movements. I don't have it NEARLY as bad as anyone with Tourette's. I hope maybe some research can be done to see if those mechanisms are related.
