Do you want to work at Disney? 🏰

Those rules sound like some of the most reasonable things I've ever heard about Disney.

If you call out sick, why would you go to the place you work? I feel like that’s a bad idea no matter where you work.

Cast members don’t really want to eat in the park anyway. They have a cafeteria for them that has different things to choose from at half the cost. In the early 90’s I would eat a meal for less than $5.

34 years as a WDW Cast Member and still going strong. Rules have changed throughout the years. Some good, some nut so good. But I’m still here.

I'd be sweating bullets in those costumes!

As someone who has worked in several theme parks, all of these are basically standard across the board and not just a Disney thing

aside from 'ruining the magic' it's probably also to prevent spills and damage to the costume

All those rules are pretty reasonable. I worked at a theme park before same thing there too

Thats like calling out sick at target then going shopping at your target 😂😂

I honestly totally get the first one. It isn’t about “ruining the magic, ” it’s about the fact that they don’t want cast members getting food stains on their uniforms. I don’t think people wanna see Cinderella walking around with a spaghetti sauce stain on her dress.

I'm a former cast member. We really didnt need to go on stage for food, there were plenty of cafeterias with multiple options. Seeing the wrong costume in the wrong land broke the magic, which is why some areas have direct back stage paths to and from costuming/the entry building. I remember Batu CMs weren't allowed to be ''off world'', and as a vending CM the closest I could get was the entry to the tunnel and that was only when it was raining.

Yes, I actually do feel like seeing cast members in costume eating would affect immersion especially for kids. “Don’t talk to Cinderella right now kiddo she’s on break”

I’m fairly certain that if I call in sick to my grocery store job, and then go get groceries from there, I’d get fired too 😂 that seems like a rule all companies have

Working at Disney is a whole other level of customer service.

I appreciate all of them whenever I visit. 🥰

I feel like it’s also to stop them from getting stopped and asked questions while they’re supposed to be on break. I worked in retail for a little bit and as soon as I would leave my shift I would have to immediately go change or people would stop me and ask me things while I was walking out of the store to go home.

As a former Disney cast member I can say these are all true, except the costume one. I was never told I had a limit of how many costumes I could have and I worked at 11 different locations and had all of those costumes in my closet for months!

My husband used to be a cast member. There were a lot of rules. But the perks that you got from the job were worth it.

OMG MY COUSIN IS A CAST MEMEBR THERE! She has brown hair and is playing with bubbles. She’s the third cast member to be shown! YAS LILIA

I worked at universal studios a few years ago and we had the same rule about food. But honestly I didn’t mind at all because they had their own cafeteria for the workers in the backlot of the park, and it was the same delicious park food (sometimes with even more variation), but for a fraction of the price! When I started there I brought lunches at first with me to save money, but with how good the food was at our worker cafeteria and how cheap it was, I started eating there every day instead 😋.
