Here's my McDonald's horror story. Happened in 1999. I live in Canada, and I was going on vacation in the United States. I didn't have a credit card back then and the ATM fees I would've encountered would have been crazy, so the day before I was leaving, I went to the bank and exchanged my Canadian money into US dollars. I had 1300$ on me. Walking back, I stopped at the McDonalds for lunch but I had already planned to take it to go because I didn't feel comfortable with that amount of cash in my pocket. The person in front of me walked to the register and was giving his order when two guys entered and jumped the counter and that's when I saw their shotguns. Like in a really bad movie, I heard NOBODY MOVE! and my body reacted before I could think, and I dropped on the ground. All my Stupid brain could think was that I couldn't let them take my money. I slowly crawled on my stomach and while they were busy talking to the cashiers, I opened the door, got on my knees and ran outside. There was a woman that was walking towards the restaurant. She had a baby on her hip and was holding a Toddler's hand. I stopped her from going in, told her to leave and I ran to the phone booth (I had no cell phones back then) and called 9-1-1. I did not stick around for the police, I was too scared the guys would come out. I ran all the way home.
