I remember going to a LBS years ago when eTap first came out. Since it was originally just for Red I asked if they would be scaling it down to Apex and Rival and was promptly told that it would never happen as the tech was to expensive and there wasn't anywhere to really skimp on price. Oh, how things have changed, haha!

Hey wiggle. Ik your not the same company anymore but I’m just looking for some advice if you still respond to comments. I’ve got Di2 ultegra 11 spd that I need to restrict for youth racing. Can you restrict it using just the limiter screw or would that damage it? The charging cable I’ve got (SM-BCR2) isnt supported by the current E-TUBE software. I think it’s 3.4.5. If anyone has some advice that’d be great

Unless they figure out how to give it the tiniest little dynamo or solar or something, perhaps with a deactivate button cause you can't have a single watt loss on your high performance race bike you don't need, I think this is a horrible idea. Even then. Electronics with big potential for trouble and little benefits. Maybe on an E-Bike, purely for style points. And recharges with the bike or dynamo. Bike may run out, but shifter still has 12 h to go or something.
