Excellent. I'm looking at a bike with SRAM DoubleTap shifters. They don't look as daunting as I feared.
I've enjoyed Shimano in the past, but I can see potential benefits from ONLY using a brake lever for braking.
Plus, it'll be interesting to see how comfortable shifting in the drops actually is.

Quick question. Why is it called double-tap?
It looks like short-tap to shift down the cassette, long-tap to shift into a bigger cog.
It's still one tap per shift, just shorter or longer.

Also, lots of little taps to drop down fast, like once you crest a hill, seems intuitive. My shimano mtb shifters do that.
But what about when you want to go up 2-3 cogs at a time? How does that depend on how far voter you push the lever?

So, can it only downshift one cog at a time, or is it possible to downshift 2 or 3 cogs with one lever swing?

Bad experience with Apex 1 X so far just does not shift as it should. It's been for a service at the bike shop and I have tried indexing myself "not rocket science" same issues gears not dropping to higher gears as they should and having to go 2 clicks up and then one down to engage properly. I have a badly looked after Marin Gestalt 4 years old riden hard as a commuter and still changes gear smooth as can be on Shimano Saura. Plenty of threads on the issue with the Apex with a quick Google????

Wait is it ok to mix and match leavers? Im turning my fixie into a roadbike 1x10 cuz budget im scared to buy a leaver and have them in the wrong sizes
