I think that when SpaceX and if they do it before NASA, NASA will ask to join in and send there astronauts on Star ship and the plan for Artemis will change drastically. At least that's my opinion.

It still seems like the Moon is the ideal sandbox to develop mars mission (surface) systems and infrastructure. It would be especially useful as a fuel stop

Recently an idea got in my head. SpaceX can easily launch modules for space stations from any other country. The starship paylod can easily host a 8x6mts module. 4 launches and you have and space sation basically. Imagine any country wanted to have their own space station, just contract spaceX and launch it at a affodable cost.

Another well produced video. You can only speculate about NASA’s path forward. It will be interesting to see if SpaceX produces an operational Starship-Superheavy and provides more return on the money invested for space flight, if NASA and the US government will send more funds to SpaceX instead of the legacy companies.

It makes me sad sometimes to see every country sort of competing like this, wasting huge amounts of money trying to out-do each other at the same thing.

Imagine what would be possible if we all came together peacefully and pooled our resources. All those nuclear weapons? Nuclear Pulse Propulsion. All those budgets combined to create a brilliant state-of-the-art global UN Orbital 1 of significantly increased quality and capacity compared to everybody making their own little one.

I know that that's not how the world works, or may ever work, and that competition breeds innovation, but it makes me sad to think of all the progress we could make if we stood together, instead of apart.
