China's Yutu-2 rover captures new images of moon's far side

China's Yutu-2 rover recently beamed back new imagery of the lunar surface. See rover tracks and more in the new views from the far side of the moon.

Yutu 2 still in operation and beamed back picture of the moon surface. Yutu 2 touched down on the lunar far side in January 2019 atop the Chang'e 4 lander, making the pair the first spacecraft to land and operate on the moon's hidden hemisphere. Simply fantastic!

Stunning and mind blowing, crystal clear, finally, now we can gaze around zoom in and look closely for remnants of ancient long lost advanced human civilizations who landed upon the moons surface long before we did and they walked upon the lunar surface and they built upon and below the lunar surface.

Yutu means jade color rabbit, it’s Chang’e pet in ancient Chinese folk story. Chang’e stole a magic pill from her husband to stay beautiful forever and got exiled to moon with her rabbit.

Why all the different picture quality it makes no sense brown then black and white really grainy footage.

It is fascinating and impressive to see Yutu-2 still being active after such a long time. But I wonder why it has not driven a longer distance? The Soviet Lunokhods went a lot farther in a much shorter time.

If "far side" means the "dark side" of the moon, then the dark side is MUCH better lit than I thought it was. 😉

So no stars can be seen. I always doubted the Apollo moon landing but this kinda gives more credibility

Are the orange and greenish tint/colors the "real colors" of the moon soil that we'd see if we were there in person seeing it with our own eyes(or if the dirt was brought back and see on earth)?

Or is this something "edited" like they do for pictures from the Hubble and JWST?

What exactly is illuminating the surface of this far side of the moon thats tidally locked away from us like shouldnt it be dark there? and sorry but im not buying the ability of earth shine able to magically wrap itself all the way around and so brightly and so clearly and so uniformly light up the moons dark side, if that were true then moon shine should be lighting up night time earths surface a heluva lot more than it does, but its certainly not, so like whats really going on here?

Or is it the moon giant film set they have in China I was always unsure about the Chinese moon landing because they removed most of the footage from the net.

how are Apollo images taken with 70mm film back in the '60s and '70s superior to this? These pictures look dull and low resolution. Wtf.
