I’m 25th to hit the like! Love their content. This space race will be different than last time ... because a moon base done right will become profitable. Done right means one thing ... low cost payload delivery system from the moon to orbit. This is very doable. The kick-in-pants kicker is claiming water rights. Just like a typical cowboy western movie (Angel and the Badman). Whoever controls the ice deposits will win. There is only one regional source of ice, making this a winner take all space race.

I wish that we didn’t have to use SLS and Orion. Insanely overpriced and plagued with delays and cost overruns. I would feel a lot better if we were using SpaceX rockets and Dynetics lunar landers.

Given how many German scientists were responsible for the early days of NASA, and thus the American space effort, and their current competition with China, Jixuan and Sebastian have a very unique perspective on all things space, not to mention disruptive technologies 😉
Maybe that's why their content is so informatively enjoyable, I wonder...

Well whatever the case, what is becoming increasingly clear is that private companies who are not beholden to legacy politics, have a much more direct avenue to innovation and possible success, and I think that trend will continue going forward. As long as the nations in which these companies can flourish can remain, then the innovation will as well. That being said though, in one of Yahtzee Croshaw's novels, Will save the Galaxy for food, he imagines a world in which lunar colonization was achieved without any help from the governments of Earth at all, and was instead bankrolled by "independently wealthy visionary types". That is what I see as the far more likely outcome, and we seem to be seeing more and more of those all the time

I can see it.. Finally, after all the delays, the NASA astronauts hopping on the surface of the moon, suddenly a tall humanoid figure approaches: "Hi guys, care to some R&R at our place? we got some champagne I distilled from the grapes in the greenhouse dome" and with that, Elon retreats to his Tesla and drives off to his SpaceX Dome colony complex.

I also think SpaceX will go to the Moon with or without NASA funding because if your going all the way to Mars why not prove you can also go to the moon. Going to the moon will also generate lots of funding from NASA and countries that want to go to the Moon. Don't forget if SpaceX lands on the moon by there own expenses they will become the first private company to do something like this.
