Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Zack: "Someone online picked up a real nice 470 quad-trac. I wonder who that online bidder was."
Zack's dad at home: **mouse click** "Oh yeah...."

Ever been to a corner ball game at a farm auction? Not sure if it is still ever happens but 35 yrs ago when I was a wee lad farm auctions among the plain sects in eastern PA (Amish and Mennonites) were a family affair for all relatives and others. If it was grandpa's retirement auction the daughters and daughter in-laws had the food stand. The teenagers or "rumspringa" got a good corner ball game going in the barn that drew crowds rivaling the actual auction. And us kids, we would bounce at will between Dad and the uncles at the auction, the wild game in the barn, the nearly empty farm house (furniture got sold too) and when we got hungry mom or aunts in the food stand would always hook us up. Wonderful memories.

I loved going to auctions with my stepdad for the food and listening to the auctioneer calling bids.

I don’t think that most folks realize how much pieces of equipment for farming costs, this was an awesome experience. Thanks Zack.

My grandpa always took me to farm auctions in Northeast Kansas back in the 70's. Still enjoy going to them today - even if I don't buy something.

This chaps kit is well looked after and a credit to him. I bet this is a sad day for him. Thanks Zac

When we lived in MN, one of my favorite weekend morning rituals was watching Machinery Pete.

Sometimes at an auction, all you get to buy is a cheeseburger and a soda. Everything else is too expensive.

People who think a Porsche is expensive, never bought a farm tractor

The spinach farm I worked in Cranbury, NJ had their retirement auction in September. The business had been around since the 50s and 9 of the 10 tractors they had were all bought new for the farm.

I can't help thinking that a farmer that retires with no family member to take up after is a bit sad. Great video and surprisingly good clean looking equipment.

The one thing I've missed in Lockdown is going to farm auctions! Burger, coke, chat and maybe buy something

I love going to machinery/farm auctions here in the UK, even if I don't buy anything - its a great day out seeing old faces.

I love auctions! I use to go with my grandpa to auctions all of the time during the summer when I was a kid.

I’m glad I bought my Case I h combine last December before prices went up. Bought a 262 receiver for 700 bucks on Facebook market. Deere can keep their high-priced receivers
