I agree for the first part, but it feels more like when they're together, they can finally be who they wanna be. Gwen can finally let go of her responsibility and be herself, meanwhile, miles feels more grown up .
Because what makes them unable to be theirselves is everything around them. When they're together, all of that disappear.
So i believe their more complementary by their opposition.

9:02 yeah but you can still do that while in a relationship though, Gwen already has Hobie Brown for that kind of bond, she literally sleeps at his place people forget that Hobie is that supportive pillar for Gwen as they often been on multiple mission together to the point that she is opening herself up more she likes to wear things from people who she cares most about from Hobie to Miles. I say Miles & Gwen work because of these differences eventually they will come around. That's just how life works if you have someone who you consider your best friend it's bound to at least give it a try to see what it's like yes obviously it changes things forever and can be a make or break event but more often than not it's already a big positive because you already know each other better than anyone els ever could nothing changes other than the fact that you have more intimate feelings for one another, Gwen genuinely panicked when miles was under the rubble at the bridge she frantically searched for him she didn't even care about the others just Miles she obviously loves him but is giving herself the time to just open up to loving someone again. She's possessive seen by how she drags miles out of a conversation with Spiderbyte, these two work so well because Gwen can give what miles wants and Miles gives what Gwen wants he's already been doing it because of how he's been hanging out with her, romance doesn't have to drastically change the way things go they just strengthen what already is present. 💝 I seen how Miles and Gwen in a comic went 20 years in the future by accident and they saw posters all over the city congratulating them both on being a married spider couple. They both looked at each other and were confused and flustered which is a cannon event for these two as in that's how they realized without even having been aware that all this time they had feelings for one another to the point that a different universe is showing that they are ment to be. I hope this comment is making somewhat sense for you to understand that they're just perfect for one another, because otherwise Hobie and Gwen would be a thing. and miles would be disappointed but moving on from that and filling that friend you can talk to role though she'd likely already would be talking with Hobie at that point. (Look if a girl sleeps at your place i don't care what you say, she's there at your place meaning that at some point there's going to be something that changes the both of you either you see her in the morning trying to take a shower and run into her half naked or whatever encounter it doesn't need/take much to change one's views and beliefs to realize they may have a crush on them. Sure it can be entirely platonic too where you just somehow don't take your chances and let her be which would be strange considering when you could be the very person to look after said friend in a more close way.) i think i rambled on enough 😅 but my opinion is they do work better than people like to give it credit for we are looking at a couple who's literally dimensions apart yet feeling more connected than ever with one another Gwen also missed Miles you can see her blush as she goes through his sketch book 📖 and finds that high school energy in him and finds it cute as she responded back with "i missed you too" she wasn't weirded out or embarrassed she genuinely liked that the feeling was mutual.
