Miles' jealousy subplot is definitely one of the better ones I've seen. They don't lean into it super hard, and they make it understandable since he isn't just jealous but also pretty hurt that Gwen has had the ability to come see him for months but never did.

you see how Hobie was like “let’s go” at the end. hobie def knows they into eachother. whenever gwen in punks universe, she probably does not shut tf up abt miles. hobie just teasing him the whole first half of the movie cause he knows miles into her too. then this shit happens and he sees gwen getting jealous and he doesn’t want miles to slip up. i think hobie gonna have a talk with him in the next movie when miles obviously will be angry at gwen and hobie will be like, she always been into you bro, stop being goofy.

At first I felt bad for Miles since it seemed like he was a third wheel with Gwen, but when him and Margo had that exchange I couldn't help but smile. The romance plot for this film was done well as it necessarily wasn't a plot at all, it was all just natural

I love how the movie explores Gwen's feelings. Her being jealous is cute, but subtle details like when she's in Miles's room- her hair is a lot pinker. Even as she wanders around the room, the color changes to a brighter pink tone. That alone highlights how much she likes him. It's clear she wants to be with him, but it's understandable why she's afraid cause she could end up losing him.

Another detail I noticed was in the opening when it looks like she's diving in for a kiss- she's doing this as she returns to her dimension from the first movie. So, she wanted to kiss Miles but decided not to.

The moments of chemistry and tension between Miles and Gwen are awesome, you could cut with a knife, Miles is for sure the best that happened to Gwen and her fear to lose him is relatable

i really feel like the jealousy subplot can be a stroke of genius if they use hobie to push miles and gwen back together in the 3rd movie, because he’s originally introduced as someone to push them apart but then he’s just the coolest guy and he looks out for miles the whole time, i really want him to drop the bomb on miles that gwen talks about him all the time 😂😂

Whats crazy is that this "love triangle" isnt obnoxious and overdone. Their jealousy isnt annoying, its cute. And by the time its almost overstayed its welcome, theyve moved to the next scene.
