I recently made 8k steps per day a non-negotiable thing. I used to sit at the desk all day at home and do nothing, but now I must do 8k minimum and feel better for it. Even if I can^t get out I'll watch YouTube videos while jogging on the spot or walk round the house until the 8k is done.

Where was this shot? Beautiful scenery! Walking treadmills are an easy way to do your steps if you get busy. I hike a ton in the summer but the forest here (London) is clay so you can't walk there in winter, so the treadmill comes in use while working or just watching TV!

Does jogging / trail running provide the same benefits to posture and relaxing the lower back as just walking?
