For the frozen fish. Anyone who's been ice fishing could explain. Wind pushes on the ice and the ice breaks leaving open water for a period of time, then that water also freezes. Ice can push up on other ice and create more layers of ice.

The one memory from my childhood is when I saw a coin in clear ice covering the ground. I wanted this coin so bad, but I was 4 year old, didn’t have any tools to extract it and my mom hurried me up. So all is left are the memories.
