So let's see if I have this straight. You could not have Communion every Sunday because you did not have a preacher every Sunday. Now that you do, you still do not. I am confused.

There is a lot that I agree with in United Methodism, but this is one aspect of the faith that bothers me. I feel that receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion and the way it symbolizes Christ's body and blood strengthens me as a Christian not only for the rest of the day, but for the rest of the upcoming week. For myself, it completes the church experience and without it, something feels incomplete about the service. Maybe it's because my faith background has been both Roman Catholic and Episcopalian.

I didnt know this. Methodism is quite popular in my home country of Northern Ireland. Thank you.

It would be nice if Holy Communion was every Sunday. As a kid, I remember the railings up front, where you would kneel for communion, had holes to place the shot glass of grape juice when you were done drinking it.

Christians in the first century met on the first day of the week, taking the Lord's supper, singing hymns, and in prayer . That should be the pattern for us as written in the book of Acts . But man has changed that pattern in the last three hundred years or so.Christ
said if you love me keep my commandments. People, read your Bible.

Why does the Methodist Church serve white grape juice in communion...???? I believe it should be red. To represent the blood of Jesus.... for dying on the cross for our sins...
