I've adored this musical for a while now, I can't explain it but it just scratches my brain in the right way. Cecelia is a great director and she still makes short films

Forgot to mention that he was in the soup and the trash bags are just his bones. But yeah, the perfume song is pretty wild. Fun watch though, i like it! Not usually an art film person but i think this one being so short helped.

Cecilia Condit was one of my professors in film school, and it's been crazy to see some of her old projects get so popular post-pandemic. She had some of the most interesting critiques for her students' films haha

You forgot to mention that the women who made this once dated a man who murdered his ex girlfriend and hid her body in his closet while he and the creator were living together. Since she was on medications that affected her sense of smell, she discovered the body for months. There is another short film on the channel Possibly in Michigan was posted about this incident called Beneath the Skin.

best example of the difference between "explaining" and "describing"

I could definitely be wrong but I read somewhere that she (the director) was married to a murderer for some time and wrote this about what is basically the inverse of her relationship

Oh I LOVEEE possibly in Michigan.. In terms of songs the "strange looking man at my door" one is so underrated and it is my fav!

I saw it back in the 80s. I'm kind of surprised it made a comeback.

The poodle in the microwave was an urban legend that grew out of the newness of the microwave. In full it goes an older lady let's her children replace her oven with a microwave since it's safer. What the children don't know is that on rainy or cold days she sets the oven to warm and leaves the door open to warm the house and sometimes she puts the poodle in for just a few minutes to warm up. Honestly my grandmother did the first and it's not a stretch to think someone would do the second. Not knowing how microwaves work she decide to do the same thing, the story relying on the microwave still operating with the door open, and her sitting there when out of no where the dogs explodes.

That film is so cool. Also, the stalker ends up being killed by his intended victims, which is great to see

Its an art film, everyone is only interpreting it as creepy/cursed because the mainstream is trained to think VHS=spook lately.

Its a brilliant avant guard film with vibrant tastes of queer expressionism before the age of uwu from an era some wouldn't expect it from. Her entire channel is well worth the deep dive.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this. I watched this movie over and over for a few weeks years ago but couldn't remember the name. I never would have found it if not for this short randomly popping up just now.
