Greta Thunberg joins second London oil protest days after arrest

Greta Thunberg has joined a protest outside JPMorgan, demanding the bank stop funding fossil fuels.

Along with the group Fossil Free London, the Swedish climate activist stood outside the entrance in Canary Wharf on Thursday morning, chanting: “Here we stand, here we stay, time to make polluters pay.”

It follows another protest on Tuesday in Mayfair, where oil executives were meeting as part of the Energy Intelligence Forum, at which Ms Thunberg was arrested and subsequently charged with a public order offence.

The group said JPMorgan has been a major source of funding of fossil fuel projects since the Paris Agreement, when governments agreed to limit global average temperature rise to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.

There won’t be any oil left soon. Seems like a weird thing to protest at this point. The biggest impacts on the environment are mass deforestation

I see that St Greta of the Thunbergs has been in the UK recently.

What I want to know is how did she get here? I hope that she only chose deep green methods of transport, such as walking, bicycling, canoe, rowing boat or pedalo.

I also hope she is wearing sustainable clothing, that is, hand made from homespun, with no synthetic materials made in nasty factories. As both leather and plastic shoes would be unacceptable to such a virtuous green activist, I'm sure her footwear will be wooden clogs.

Naturally she won't have a mobile phone with her, on account of its high plastic/ synthetic content, and she won't ever contemplate using any sort of make up or skin care product. And she will of course be staying in a tent, washing in a stream, and using a dug out earth latrine.

I am 100% certain that St Greta will be happily demonstrating the net zero, oil free, sustainable, earth loving, green lifestyle that she so desperately wants to introduce for everyone. Please don't disappoint me!

Environmental . Environment issues important, but what about the wars going on right now, what about the other facts, 85% people at work places not doing right recycling, put everything everywhere even provided facilities. Just showing off for nothing. So do not use vehicles, fridges, do not fly until dying, do not use trains, tubes, and be 100% perfect environmentalists- and find something to replace oil. And if whole world stop used diesel, petrol vehicles and where do you want to dump them another environment issue.it’s too late the whole world together now face the consequences of all environmental disasters.
