Greta Thunberg carried away by police after protest at German mine: Greta Thunberg joined hundreds of climate activists at a mine in the village of Lutzerath, in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of the country. The activists, who are protesting against the ongoing destruction of the village to make way for a coal mine expansion, today clashed with riot police. Thunberg, 20, was pictured smiling today as she was carried away by three police officers, all of whom were wearing riot gear.

Nicely copied from the Greenpeace press release I presume. Let's see how many errors I can pin without trying too hard:

1. The mine is not in the "village", it's the Gartzweiler mine which is being expanded in the direction of that "village"
2. "village" is putting it very generously, it's three farms standing close together which had a peak population of 105 ppl in 1970.
3. They are not protesting the ongoing destruction of that "village" but the expansion of the coal mine. The "village" will be torn down, but the buildings aren't historical and are owned by the coal company, which paid generously for the properties.
4. That's not riot police anywhere in the world. That's police men wearing helmets and balaclavas for their own protection against stones and fireworks
5. They did not clash, they were informed that they are trespassing on private property and will be removed, and that they should not use violence to resist so the police won't have to use equivalent counter meassures (wouldn't want to make the kiddies cry with tear gas). The protestors were sitting on the ground passively resisting removal.
6. Again, the police was not wearing riot gear. Check it on youtube if you want, riot gear looks distinctively different from those standart helmets. It took three of them to carry Thunberg away though, probably because she hasn't got the prowess to remain in a sitting position while being carried by only two officers.
7. She did not protest, she showed up after this has been going on for two years, and got herself carried by three police men the next day.

And that's just what I could find in a minute. No wonder people belive all those crazy conspiracy crap, you're feeding it to them. Riot gear . . . 🤣🤣🤣
