What you didn't mention is that hung curd can be turned "technically" into cream cheese by letting it strain all the "whey" or the liquid, for at least 3-4 days. I Also, not all the curd would taste the same. Curd is different and cream cheese is different, even though they both belong to the same family with the same origin. Some people might try the recipe hoping they would get the texture like cream cheese but still it wouldn't work if their curd was old or if they didn't get the hung curd right in the first place
