Sony A7 Series Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras are here!

E-mount cameras with a full frame image sensor? They exist, and we're giving you the first look!

The A7 will feature a 24-megapixel sensor, with the A7R kicking that number up to 36 megapixels. Both cameras feature an OLED XGA viewfinder, also found on the Sony a99.

I agree with you. The main reason I was looking at the Oly was because of weather sealing. This has that and sooo much more. And if the EVF has the sensitivity range that it says it does, then shooting low light will become sooo much easier. To think a wedding photographer can have a ready to go 2 body kit with lenses and triggers fit all inside of a kata bag and go anywhere in the world.

there are tons of adapter for any mount to E-Mount for manual focusing and just a few that even support AF.

All e-mounts are APSC, along with their lens as well. If you use a non full frame e mount lens, it will still work but will be cropped to APSC. To counter this, Sony have planned 5 new full frame e-mount lenses.

tis true. I bought a NEX6 last year for a personal camera. So I am wondering to see how those emount lenses will work right on the body of this. I have a 50mm 1.8 already for it.

Although there were rumors about Canikon adapters I'm pretty sure he is just talking about A-Mount adapters LA-EA4 and LA-EA3 . "You can choose any kind of (A-mount) lenses that you have..."

I need more info in the adapters... Kenta vaguely said something about using them "with any kind of lenses you may have...." What exactly does that mean?? Will there be adapters made for Canon and Nikon mounts? (I know obviously a-mount lenses, but what did he mean by "...any kind of lenses you many have"?)

So, if I replace my Canon with the A7. Can I still use my Canon 70-200 with adaptors? How does that work? Any cons about this, like degraded quality or something?
This would go so well with my Sony Xperia Z Ultra with the one touch and everything!

Thats not strictly true... the problem with adapters for larger mount-sizes (and really any non mirrorless camera) is the lenses sit too close to the sensor already so when you try to adapt another lens mount to yours you end up with crazy vignetting.

WIth this camera you have what is called "intelligent adapters", because the camera is mirrorless, that crafty mirror doesnt get in the way and the conformed lens can now sit exactly as far from the sensor as it was designed to.

it's not as simple as that, there is also the file sizes to consider, 36mp eats up memory cards real fast, and takes twice as long to down load your files, also takes up twice the HD space, but the A7r is an all metal camera, and the A7 is not, also the auto focus system is not the same on the two cameras, the cheaper one is actually faster focusing, so you really need to put allot of thought into witch one is smartest for what you need, and there is also the price to consider

The viewfinder looks a bit bulky, and I'd love 240fps at 720p but othervice very nice :)

I would imagine that with partnerships with Nikon, that there should be at least the compatibility with the internal motor driven lenses. May not have full usability but if you can use a 200 f/2 VR on a a7...well. yeah, there's that.

i wouldnt want this only if it has 5fps, sony can do this. they make sensors, processors etc.
