People often confuse kindness with being nice.

Being nice is often people pleasing. You may get unhappy and frustrated if you choose to do it continuously.

Being kind is doing the right thing regardless whether the opposite person feels it's right or wrong. It's also about feeling content about our own self by choosing what we feel is right for someone else.

The difficult thing is to find a place where your efforts are recognized.

Friendly reminder that the job should be serving you just as much as you are serving it. Taking care of yourself is always the priority.

working harder is like running instead of walking and working smarter is knowing where to go, you only get to where you want faster is to use both

Every single one of your YouTube Shorts has provided a clear and concise explanation of things that have been weighing me down. I appreciate the value. I’ve been getting hit by one thing after another these past few years, and it feels great to get a no nonsense answer to the things you cover. God bless.

In my youth a instructor told me this
"Never work hard, work smart. Don't expect working smart to be easy, it can be harder but benefits you"

Making smart work look like hard work and hard work look like smart work depending on the observer is such a valuable skill to have. It’ll save you so much hassle with micromanagers and other people who’re difficult to work with.

I think the problem with hard work is that people confuse hard work with the results and skill rather than the process or effort of doing something productive. Which also aren’t mutually exclusive. I think when people say work smarter what they really mean is to focus on making smart decisions in your work that can lead to better outcomes. This is valid because sometimes hard work can lead to poor outcomes such as burnout or the wrong decision.

I live by an amulet given to me by a scam monk in San Francisco: "Work Smoothly, Lifetime Peace".

If you are not being paid a living wage, every mimute of wage theft matters. Once you are earning enough to be comfortable, respect quickly becomes more important than wage, but in office culture, respect and payment are often confused for being interchangable.

The important part is knowing your pace and what you are capable of to avoid the burnout

Promise low, deliver high. When you set the standard for your job at “I’m giving it my 100%” then they will expect your 100%, and later expect more from you

People start asking for help having made no effort themselves.
Hold the end of something, a piece of timber, when they could use a simple piece of rope ? So they value you less than a piece of old rope ? No.
Every advantage and privilege and yet they still ask ? No.
They have prepared nothing ? No.
They readily interrupt you in the midst of critical work, for their own benefit ? No.

Whenever someone tells me to "work smarter, not harder" I like to counter with, "But harder is more fun." No one has been able to come up with a reply to it yet! 😂

I think it's great that this is becoming more common. Working smarter can leverage your hard work.
