Bar chart races are a great way of visualizing data and showing change over time. These type of videos are popular on social media as well as useful in the classroom to quickly demo how data can tell a story.

Our students can create their own Bar chart races in no time using a service called Flourish.
In this video I demonstrate how easy it is to get started and what can be customized about these racing bar charts.

Big flaw. The time line at the bottom suddenly went from column 1, column 2 etc to a timeline with no explanation.

I'm trying to build a race where column A is the caregory I want labeled. In column D is a list of time stamps corrolating to each time something from column A appears. Columns B and C contain variable info that doesn't affect the relation between columns and D. It appears this took needs to read values left to right to make the race and not top to bottom, is that correct?
