I just installed one last week. It’s a nice upgrade to the G4 dome.
The packaging is much improved and the resolution at night is much better.
It would help if they installed 2 more ir’s on the camera. In low light areas it seems as though they illuminate more of the bottom of the image and less on top since they are mounted below.
I guess it depends on the camera’s orientation.

I have the G5 dome and have ordered a second one. I’m debating whether I install it inside or outside.

I have installed two G5 domes when they were accessible in Early Access for the Europe Store.
The default auto exposure setting wasn't good enough and had to be manually set to account for flickering due to the AC frequency.

Also, at daylight, one of the cameras will still display some flickering. Don't know if that's a combination of reflection of bright sunlight via the floor and the LED lighting on the drop ceiling or something else...

Compared to the old HikVision cameras dating from 2017, this was a huge step forward: wider view angle, improved IR, easier and safer remote access possibilities.

I have a question unrelated to this video if you have time to answer.

Have you had any issues with the US-Aggregation switch causing reduced speeds across all devices and switches connected to it?
I use a 10GB Wintek SFP+ to the UDM pro from aggregation and have 6 devices connected to the Aggregation switch including 20+ other devices from various switches and the issue is present in all devices.

For instance, the PC living room gets 940Mbps /120Mbps on a 2.5Gbps fiber while PC2 which is mine connected via 2.5Gbps ethernet to 10Gbps SFP+ and I only see 400Mbps down and 2250Mbps up.
This is completely random across all my devices where either the DL or Upload is at normal speed while the other is not.

I am currently researching how to resolve this if at all possible.

Seems to be a trend with the G5 cameras ghosting issues I wonder if it can be fixed in the settings.

Great video. If you make a follow-up video, turn on high frame rate mode on the G4 to compare the picture during day and night as well. I wonder why the G5 is missing the high frame rate feature?

Love watching your videos and getting latest Infos about the unifi world! You're doing a great job, keep it up.

However I've got a problem now with the G5 Dome.

I bought three of them an tried to set up the first one yesterday. I tried this with a Unifi 8 Lite PoE - it works with 1m and 3m cables, however it would'nt power up on 5m or more meters. We are using SFTP Cables only - I remember reading something about a problem with the AP6 Pro i think regarding SFTP Cables, but can't seem to find the article any more.

Why don’t they change the POE entrance from the top to the bottom of the dome…? Doesn’t water flow down and stuff?

Odd that the lens viewing angle are the 'same' on paper but not on picture. Maybe it was LDC enabled/disabled or something?

Seen questions on forums if the camera lens is movable?
Is it manually or throught the GUI? Since it's a dome camera others ones I've used I can control left/right/up/down. But it is possible with G5 ?
