The Apple pencil is a great accessory for your iPad. But only for the iPad. It literally doesn't work with the iPhone for some reason. And what that reason actually is, is the topic of this video. We are together going to take a look at the history of the Apple pencil as well as at some real reasons why Apple limits the support.

If they just made a "mini" apple pencil for iphone, i'd buy it in a SECOND. I do so much creative work on my phone that is simply painstaking with my fingers. Yes, we need the option to have a stylus.

if you don't see the utility of the pencil on a phone, it doesn't mean we don't... for example I take drawing comissions and when I can't take my tablet on a train/bus etc I put the file on a usb c stick and continue the drawing on my samsung note... its really helpful and time saving.

No pen for iPhone or any smartphone android is the reason why I only buy samsung note smartphones (I am not a samsung fanboy as I never consider buying any other samsung smartphone with no stylus)

I understand that Appple can't make a stylus as capable as the current Apple Pencil any smaller given the technology inside. I don't understand why my iPhone can't even register the Pencil as a simple stylus. It doesn't need the gyroscope or the tap technology, just a stylus would be enough.

i mostly take my class notes in apple notes app by typing. but sometimes i take photo of something and use finger to write or highlight something on that photo. apple pencil will help alot in achieving accuracy

Yes I have been waiting to use my pencil on my iPhone. I bought a plus, hoping I would be able to. I am not buying another large iPhone until it becomes possible. I love to take notes on my phone, but HATE doing so with my finger… that is awful. I also hate to carry my mini iPad AND my phone, my purse gets too heavy. I wouldn’t mind my phone being a bit bigger if i could take hand written notes on it. It would do it all for me. I resent Apple infantilising me. Let me make my own decisions on how I want to use my device. Make it available, then watch me go go go.

The basic reason why is technological. The Apple pencil needs a sensor board which would increase the thickness of the phone. That digitiser needs to have an insane resolution to allow for the prevision a phone needs. Its actually a miracle Samsung can do it at all.

technology is the most valid point in my opinion. Because use-cases exist for using the apple pencil in the iphone

As an artist Would be nice for me to be able to draw on my iphone while on the go… using my iphone as a little sketchbook for ideas and stuff… but apple knows better…
