Taupō Volcano update - October 2022

Comforting to know that Lake Taupo isn't likely to go boom any time soon, although living the other side of the Tasman does reduce the impact-risk somewhat!

I love the ending about finding out more to getready and be prepared. Lets face it, unlike the other volcanos in NZ lake Tuapo is a super volcano, there is nothing to get ready for accept leaving the country if it erupted as it would most likely destroy most of the north island through eruptions, ejection and ash fall out.

Good video. Are you taking into consideration the whole earths current seismic unrest? Oh the current nz plate movements? Also Is it possible the solar flare x has affected Taupo? It seems to have caused many volcanoes to become more active in the past month.

Thank you for the update, just out of interest, do the scientists & advisors take into consideration, the overall global uptick in volcanic activity when forecasting further unrest? It would be silly to assume our situation is only affecting lil ol'e us.

Well, as the Maori have been in NZ since the 1200's, I'm surprised they have not put a rahui on local volcanic activity !

Surly the volume of water would decrease the VE explosion level? Maybe I’m naïve, but the lake is a caldera so surly it will never be as big a explosion as previously??
