Driver sentenced again in DWI crash that permanently injured officer

A Nassau County police officer nearly killed by an admitted drunk driver almost five years ago finally got justice Wednesday. The driver was convicted and then sentenced in 2019. CBS2's Carolyn Gusoff has more on why the officer had to return to court for another sentencing.

I get where he is coming from, why is it when an drunk accident is involves a cop he gets a tougher sentence? Then if a cop is involved in a drunk driving case, because he is a cop, he gets a lighter sentence? Makes no sense.

Don’t get caught driving drunk. A lot of Cs out there mad about their dead loved ones. Some people can’t hold their liquor. I don’t care about your dead loved ones or police officers with no duty to protect.
