unbelievable that a doctor would say that removing the gallbladder doesn't cause problems

Caller is right. It’s from the surgery

the caller is right, gall bladder removal can cause diarrhea due to fat indigestion. there are some digestive engyms which can help digestion. but we need to be careful in terms of fat intake, probably by eliminating fat from diet as much as possible

Terrible information, the removal of the gallbladder DOES cause diarrhea when u eat fatty foods, there is no bile.

I had my gallbladder removed months ago and have not experienced diarrhea. I eat normally as I have my whole life and don’t have digestive issues. Best decision I ever made! I suffered with so much pain and discomfort with a nonfunctional gallbladder for years. I eat wings and pizza and fried foods at moderation and don’t have any issues. If ppl have problems after it’s probably due to other digestive issues.

I had mine out and I had those symptoms for about a month and then it evened out..but before it was removed I would be doubled over in pain for 4to 6 hours in the middle of the night..

*She's wrong. If you have a gallbladder removed, you can't eat normal. You have to watch your fat.*
*I was just in the hospital last week for my gallbladder and one of the nurses had her out 9 yrs ago and she said she would have to run to the bathroom before she even got finished eating. Same as the caller. And she said it's just now getting better. So I wouldn't listen to this woman. Doesn't sound like she knows what she's talking about.*

Typically lies from a Doctor. Research other doctors online that explain the complications after surgery

I had my gallbladder removed 4 years ago and
I can eat high fatty foods without problems

The main problem is my gallbladder surgical scars are still with me and that your more likely to gain weight because you can't concentrate fat as well without your gallbladder processing and storing before going to your digestive system

You make enough bile, but you make less bile

But I also have pre diabete's and have to eat better then regular people too

Terrible advice. I had my GB removed and same symptoms. It's very common to have complications after removal especially as its all connected to the digestive track. Weight gain is also a side effect and sounds like the caller has issues losing weight judging from her response to the doctor's question. Diarrhea is especially common after removal. Its horrendous but can calm down in time.

Bad advise. Is she a real doctor? Hope not. It's common knowledge that diarrhea is caused by removing your gallbladder
